Aneta Grzeszykowska, Selfie (2015)

“Selfie” presents a series of works with the same title. Grzeszykowska uses pigskin to recreate parts of her body, her fingers, breasts, head, eyes and mouth, in sculpted form. She then photographs the phantom objects against backgrounds of leathers in various colours. The shots fit in with her interest in both the practice of self-portraiture and self-creation which is rooted in the history of art and in existential matters.
