A striking album of Polish press photography from the era of fully fledged communism. The shots, which are laid out in photojournalistic sequences, had previously been published in “Swiat” (The World), an illustrated weekly, “Polska” (Poland), a monthly published for foreign readers, and the state-run Central Photography Agency services. The photos are the work of several dozen photographers, including the most outstanding photojournalists of the late nineteen fifties and early nineteen sixties. The socio-political, cultural and travel themes are typical of the latter decade.
Concept and photo selection by Zygmunt Szarek-Szargut and Zbigniew Woszczyński
