Sputnik Photos, Miejsce odległe (2012)

The publication consists of photographs taken by members of the Warsaw-based Sputnik Photos collective. A cardboard box holds black-and-white and colour photos bound in the form of exercise books and small books. The photos are all of the Vistula River. However, they also encompass both towns and cities connected with the river and the lives of their residents. In the first artistic edition, which was brought out by the Centrum Nauki Kopernik publishing house, itself located on the Vistula, a variety of writers voice their responses to the diverse uses of the documentary photos and comment on the project and the river itself.
