An album of the judges’ choices of photographs entered for a competition held to mark the twentieth anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. Laid out to tell the story of the camp and its history, the photos dramatise the site of memory. Many of the selected shots, including some by Adam Bujak, became a permanent part of the iconography of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
