Aneta Grzeszykowska was born in Warsaw in 1974 and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts there. She began collaborating with her partner, Jan Smaga, in 1999. As of 2005, she primarily exhibits her own, individual projects. She works with photography and film and creates sculptural forms, engaging with questions of identity, image and depicting of the body. She also turns to the work of other women artists, alluding to the tradition of feminist art in a manner sometimes more and sometimes less direct.
