Henryk Hermanowicz, Jalu Kurek, Tatry (1988)

This, the second of Hermanowicz’s Tatra mountain albums is made up of striking landscape studies in black-and-white and colour, mainly portraying the mountains’ rocky sections. The photographs, which focus on the detail of rocky forms and mountain flora, are supplemented by extracts of prose and poetry by Jalu Kurkek with the Tatras as their theme. The album is laid out in line with an aesthetic key that breaks the customary, topographical order.
