Adam Kaczkowski, Auschwitz-Birkenau ([1970])

The album contains black-and-white photographs of buildings in the former Nazi extermination camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Kaczkowski departs from the formula of topographic photography, presenting frames filled with expression and artistic skill. Grandiloquence is conferred on his visit to the museum by the lofty, propagandist captions alongside the photos.
