Rafał Milach, The Winners (2014)

Fifty-three hand-glued photographs taken between 2010 and 2913 present the winners of all sorts of competitions, ‘shock workers’ and units picked out for distinction by the Belarusian authorities. Regime police officers, welders, aero bike instructors, lovers and newly-weds form a typology of portraits depicting society in a country which, under the rule of Aleksander Łukashenko, is the last dictatorship in Europe.
