Edward Hartwig, Lublin (1956)

This is Hartwig’s first album devoted to his home city of Lublin in eastern Poland. Most of the photographs show views of the Old Town as it was being reconstructed after the havoc wrought by the Second World War. They were taken over the course of twenty-five years and they adhere to various styles; pictorial, social realism and modern.
